As a Wedding & Event Photographer and Videographer, I’ve been fortunate to visit a number of Melbourne’s wedding venues. A well-suited venue is a cornerstone to a great wedding day so here are some picks to consider.
Ascot House Receptions
I shot a wedding at Ascot House last year and specifically recall the effort from the staff who were exceptionally helpful and friendly as well as conducive to the success of the wedding. The venue is compromised of a Victorian mansion with elegant indoor and outdoor space for use. You can rely on Ascot House to provide a quality experience regardless of the weather conditions and I’m proud to be able to recommend them to couples and wedding planners alike.
Brunswick Mess Hall
The Mess Hall is a uniquely beautiful wedding venue. It’s dim, candlelit theme produces a naturally photographic quality. When you enter the main hall you’ll see a long-spanning room filled with leafy greens, wooden tables and chairs. The mess hall is a perfect fit for a rustic themed wedding. The Brunswick region is known for its iconic artistry and this wedding venue is no exception.
I haven’t personally visited Vogue Ballroom but I’m impressed by its old architectural aesthetic and stupendous reviews on Google. Seeing footage of the bride and groom dancing among clouds of pink smoke and sparklers looked like something out of a Hollywood film and qualifies Vogue Ballroom for inspection by couples in search of that sublime wedding experience. The venue is located in Burwood East and 26 KM’s from Melbourne CBD,
Encore St Kilda
I was fortunate enough to be able to shoot my first ever wedding at this terrific spot, set right on the beach. I can remember the wedding party using the far end of the room as an open dance floor and what a tremendous moment it made for the guests that evening. the venue is somewhat extravagant in scale so it’s suited to couples coming with a more substantial wedding party and it includes a terrific outdoor area overlooking the seashore.
Leonda By The Yarra
Leonda is a venue located in Hawthorn which makes it conveniently close to the city. Below the ceremony designation is a pier overlooking the river, a wonderful photography hotspot. The staff are very responsive, professional and the food provided was delicious. You can expect a giant interior room surrounded by glass windows for your reception and you can obtain access to the outdoor garden area for your ceremony.
